Angry Lagg has to stop

A couple of months ago I had no connection problems and farmed my warrior obsidian armor in uw. Now yesterday and today I died 4 times in total on a run. Not due to agro, due to the phenomenon described as "rubber" banding . I am not standing near anything and still get hit like a truck. Even when using a speed boost. Before the whole reconnect thing I had it on occasion. But 4 times in 2 days is just to much. Lot's of guildies of mine are complaining about it too. So it can't be just my connection.

I hope they will do something about it, because it's no fun playing this way.

Please Post here if you are having similar problems. Playing on Euro btw.

*I would like to keep this thread flame free. So don't start about UW wasn't build for farming ...

Well, I hate to say it, but I have to agree that the lag has gone worse lately.
Not just me, but many other people playing pvp seem to experience lag these days.

I hope things will be better soon... Its close to unplayable sometimes now...

I have two computers. Each is on a different modem, and both use the same I.S.P. Now I have some slight lag on one of the computers, however, it is also over 4 years old, and hasn't been upgraded in over 3 years, so lag is understandable. My other computer, which is about a year old, gets no lag.

I think your problem is either with your computer, or your internet connection.

Ive been lagging maybe cuz of ISP going bankrupt or it could be cuz Nightfall requires 1GB RAM whilst I have only 512MB.

Most problems with lag or dropped packets for me tend to originate from problem spots along the line, at various hops. It's been a while since I've done so, but I believe it's a tracert (?) that you can run to check for these spots along the ways.

Until you've done so, and checked your own internet connection, assuming the problem is on Anet's end is bad form.

Not that it's never on Anet's end, though. When 4 unrelated people from different parts of the US disconnect simultaneously, and all the other party members complain of crippling lag, it's almost certainly not on our end. Mind you, that happened over a year ago, and I haven't had many problems that aren't linked to my crappy ISP since. It's just to make the point that it does, though you should still consider other possibilities first.

yeah, I'm getting laggy as well. First time.

Guess it's Europe... few months ago every american here was crying about the lag, while Europe had no problems. Now it's the other way around.

That could be for a very simple reason; you need to update your computer. When Nightfall was released, they introduced some more advanced graphics into the game. As such, if your computer was bare minimum for Factions, then it is highly possible that your computer is now below minimum for Nightfall.

Sorry, games advance, and you need to upgrade your computer if you want to play them.

One thing about the computer updating:

I'm on a Core due 2, 7950GT setup, a newish PC really. I get the lag as well, now, some of this I attribute to my useless, useless ISP, but I can be browing at the same time (Window mode 4TW) and web pages load flawlessly. Oddly enough, Wintersday was a pretty good day where lag was concerned for me, the 31st and 2nd were murder though =P. So I cloed down GW, and lkoading up CounterStrike. NO lag problems there. But yeah, as has already been said, it's the holiday season ATM, that never helps things.

DirectX 9 is what's causing it. Guild used to run wonderfully for me until they upgraded it - now I have to run it on lowest graphics to get over 10fps. Granted, my videocard isn't quite up to par [upgrading ASAP, just need to get the rig together], but it's still laggy. I've seen 7fps in int'l dists with 3-4 other people. Definite lag.

Especially with relic run maps in HA. /sidenote
